Request for Assistance-Martin Luther King Boulevard

Freddie Lane
Raleigh Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit officers continue their follow-up investigation of Sunday morning's crash on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard that resulted in the death of Freddie Lane. As part of that investigation, the officers are working to learn more about Lane's whereabouts during a span of approximately 90 minutes immediately minutes prior to the collision.

Lane is known to have been in the vicinity of Cabarrus and Blount streets at approximately 12:30 a.m., and it's known that he was struck and killed shortly after 2 a.m. Learning more about what happened in between could be instrumental to understanding why Lane was prone on the roadway when he was struck.

Anyone who saw Lane or who had any interactions with him during the 12:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. time frame, or anyone with any other information that might assist the investigation, is asked to call Raleigh CrimeStoppers at 834-HELP to provide a confidential tip.
