RPD Arrests Bank Robbery Suspect

On Saturday, August 27, just after 9:30 a.m., Raleigh Police Department officers responded to a robbery call at the Wachovia bank at 3400 Spring Forest Rd.

A male suspect had entered the bank and passed a note to a bank teller implying he was armed. After the teller complied with the note’s demands, the suspect ran from the bank and was seen fleeing the area in a vehicle. However, an RPD officer observed the suspect on foot a short time later near the intersection of Green Road and Leigh Drive and detained him without further incident. Money stolen during the robbery was recovered.

The suspect Jason Edwin Lenoir, 29, of Raleigh has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and has been transported to the Wake County Jail.
