Shortly before 5 a.m. today, a home invasion robbery occurred at 4901 Wallingford Drive. A few minutes later, a motor vehicle crash occurred in the 4900 block of New Hope Road. Following the wreck, it's known that an altercation occurred near the wreck scene and that a stabbing occurred during that altercation. The male stabbing victim was transported to WakeMed, where he later died. The name of the victim is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
Raleigh Police Department homicide detectives and other departmental elements are investigating the three incidents to clear the cases and to determine what relationships may exist between them.
