Raleigh Police Seek to Identify Attempted Robbery Suspect

Shortly before 10 p.m. on August 22, Raleigh Police Department officers and detectives responded to the Burger King restaurant at 3701 Hillsborough Street in response to a robbery call.

The suspect seen in the attached surveillance photos attempted to rob the restaurant at gunpoint. There were two employees in the business at the time, and the suspect became involved in a physical altercation with one of them.

After striking the employee victim with a handgun, the suspect began to flee the scene. However, as he left, the suspect fired his weapon at the employee. The employee was not struck by the gunfire, and the robbery attempt was not successful.

The suspect is described as a white male of Hispanic ethnicity. He stands about 6 feet 2 inches tall and has a very thin build. The suspect was wearing the curly black wig seen in the photos in addition to dark skinny jeans, black sneakers, and a white shirt under a black zip-up windbreaker jacket. He is believed to have fled the scene on a black bicycle.
