Shortly after 2:30 a.m. today, Raleigh Police Department officers responded to a shooting call at 4005-107 New Bern Ave. A victim, Frank Brandon Black, 38, was located outside at that address with a nonlife-threatening wound to his left shoulder. Black was transported to WakeMed.
RPD officers at the scene promptly broadcast a description of a vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting. A short time later Knightdale Police Department officers stopped the vehicle, and three subjects were detained.
After further investigation, Raleigh Police Department Aggravated Assault Unit detectives charged one of the vehicle's occupants, Eduardo Gutierrez Colon, 31, with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injuries, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of cocaine. In addition, the two other occupants of the vehicle, Pedro Estra Arroyo, 34, and Jesus Arroyo, 18, were charged with possession of cocaine. The suspects have been transported to the Wake County Jail.
