RPD Detectives Investigate Two Seperate Shootings

Raleigh police detectives are investigating two separate shootings Friday evening.

Police responded to the scene of a shooting on Capital Boulevard at Calvary Drive near the U.S. Highway 1/401 split around 8:30 p.m. Investigators say it happened at the M3 Tobacco shop in the 3100-block of Calvary Drive. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound and transported him to WakeMed. There's no word on the extent of that person's injuries.

Earlier in the evening, another shooting happened just four blocks east of downtown Raleigh. A 19-year-old man told police someone shot him near Lenoir and Haywood Streets. However, his injuries are not life threatening. An investigation is underway.
