The Raleigh Police Department is currently investigating a hit and run that resulted in a fatality. The incident occurred on Sunday evening at approximately 7:15 p.m. when Melissa Johnson, 32, was struck by a vehicle while crossing South Saunders Street near Maywood Drive.
Officers are currently looking for a dark colored mid-size pick up truck. The vehicle should have front end damage. It was last seen traveling southbound on South Saunders Street.
