Two Suspects Charged in Connection with Bank Robberies

Raleigh Police Department robbery detectives have charged two suspects who had been detained in connection with yesterday’s robbery of the PNC Bank on Capital Boulevard and today’s robbery of the Bank of America on Oberlin Road.

  • William Clinard Shore (DOB 8/29/82) of Clayton has been charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon. Shore entered the banks and committed the robberies.
  • Bobby Edward Shaw (DOB 10/26/78) of Raleigh has been charged with two counts of aiding and abetting robbery with a dangerous weapon. Shaw drove a vehicle that transported Shore from the robbery scenes.
Shore was taken into custody this afternoon at a motel on New Bern Avenue after a RPD officer located a vehicle there that was believed to be connected to the cases. Shaw was taken into custody a short time later at a residence in Wendell as a result of follow-up investigative work by detectives.

Shaw has been transported to the Wake County Jail; Shore has not yet been taken to the jail.

A CrimeStoppers tip resulting from media coverage was instrumental in identifying Shore as a suspect.
