Shortly after 11 a.m. today, Raleigh Police Department officers and detectives responded to a shooting call at 2603-G Village Ct. The victim, Antonio Jarome Rasco, 22, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his shoulder and was transported to Rex Healthcare by EMS.
Follow-up investigation of the case identified Michael Anthony Connor, (DOB 7/9/88) as the suspect in and an arrest warrant charging him with attempted murder was obtained. Conner was taken into custody without further incident about 3 p.m. He is also charged with assault by pointing for aiming his weapon, a handgun, at a second victim who as at the residence at the time.
The investigation of the case, which is continuing, has determined that the victims and the suspect were known to one another and that the incident was not a random act.
