RPD Seeks Suspects in Six Armed Robberies

April 14 robbery of the Exxon. The subject in the foreground who is dressed in black was a customer in the store and is not a suspect. The four suspects are the male seen jumping the counter at the far left and the three individuals wearing hooded jackets seen entering or about to enter the store.
During April, six armed robberies of commercial establishments occurred that are either known to be related or are considered potentially related.
  • April 14, 12:01 a.m. at Exxon, 1200 New Bern Ave. Suspects: 3 black males, 1 black female
  • April 14, 10:45 p.m. at McDonald’s, 5016-100 Spring Forest Rd. Suspects: 3 black males
  • April 14, 10:45 p.m. at Fiddle Stix, 5016-101 Spring Forest Rd.    
  • April 22, 1:40 a.m. at Hampton Inn, 1001 Wake Town Dr. Suspects: 3 black males
  • April 22, 3:23 a.m. at Courtyard by Marriott, 3908 Arrow Dr. Suspects: 2 black males, 1 black female
  • April 27, 4:05 a.m. at Wingate Inn, 2610 Westinghouse Blvd. Suspects: 2 black males
Typically the suspects have been masked or have worn clothing that partially obscured their appearance. A firearm has been displayed during each of the crimes, and at least one of the suspects has been armed with a knife during some of the incidents.

The male suspects are typically described as having “thin” or “skinny” builds and are said to stand between 5 feet 5 inches and about 6 feet tall. The female is described as standing approximately 5 feet 4-5 inches tall. Age estimates place the suspects in their teens to twenties.

The suspects have last been seen fleeing on foot from the scenes.
