RPD Arrests Four Suspects in Connection with Robberies

Four suspects have been arrested and charged in connection with robberies that occurred in previous blog post.

The arrested suspects are:

• Jahlil La Vern Allen, 22
• Diaz Omar Cuthrel, 27
• Jared Alvin Jones, 23
• Jasmine Renee Venable, 22

Allen, Jones and Venable were taken into custody last night at a residence in the 800 block of S. Alston Avenue in Durham. Cuthrell was arrested today at a residence on 12th Street in Butner. Law enforcement agencies in each of those jurisdictions assisted RPD personnel in making the arrests.

Cuthrell and Jones are each charged with five counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, five counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, and five counts of first degree kidnapping in connection with their roles in the four crimes. The additional count of each charge is due to the fact that there were two victims in the September 22 case.

Allen and Vennable are each charged with four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, four counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, and four counts of first degree kidnapping in connection with their roles in the crimes occurring on September 20, 22, and 27. Again, the additional counts are due to the fact that there were two victims in the September 22 case.
